Canary Housing Cooperative of New York gave a description of their newly acquired housing site. We also had a presentation about Pure Paradise Vacations, a 3 bed, 2 bath short-term rental in Florida owned by a person with MCS.

Karen of Canary Housing Cooperative talked about the coop’s first housing site, about the skills needed to live in a cooperative, and discuss what the project and organization need.
September 2016 Call, Reference Number 3
MCS Friends hosted a public conference call about housing projects for people with chemical sensitivities on Tuesday, September 20, at 2pm Eastern Time.

Diana spoke about the Galisteo Basin Preserve, where she hopes to build a house. She thinks it would be a good place for people with chemical sensitivities because it’s about 30 minutes from Santa Fe and it’s surrounded by open space.
Susan suggested USDA Rural Development loans as a financing option for low-to-middle income people with MCS. A friend of hers recently was approved for a construction loan through this program.
June 2016 Call, Reference Number 2
We hosted a public conference about Housing for MCS people on Tuesday, June 21st, 2016.
We had a presentation about buying land in Canada, by someone who is looking for a land buying partner, or intentional neighbor in Canada.
There was a presentation about yurts as MCS housing by someone looking for land or community in Montana.
We also had a section on how to find safer housing, including a list of current housing ad venues.

May 2016 Call, Reference Number 1
MCS Friends hosted a public conference call May 17th, 2016 on the topic of applying for Social Security Disability. We had presentations by staff members of Allsup who are aware of MCS. They spoke for about 25 minutes and then took questions from the audience. One of our members recently was successful in applying for SSD, but choose not share details.
